This was neat. Maybe one day it could spot super small developing ulcers a lot earlier in those with Ulcerative Colitis. Or monitor the effect of UC meds by reduction in bleeding perhaps. Darn thing can communicate with a smartphone.

It won't work, of course.
They keep trying to create technological solutions to a disease that is constantly changing.
Immune system + gut microbiome = constant change
Modern medicine won't ever cure IBD because of the way they think about
things. One solution for everyone. Nope.

That's pretty amazing!
I feel kinda bad for the bacteria though,'imprisoned' and forced to 'cry out' when they detect blood...
Humans always enslave other creatures :/. One day bacteria will vote
