Hi everyone,
I recently came across an article that showed kiwi fruit is effective at replenishing the anti-inflammatory bacteria F. prausnitzii in the gut. As this bacteria is depleted in UC patients there is a lot of interest in this bacteria as a probiotic for IBD, however, as the bacteria is oxygen sensitive, it is quite sensitive. In the meantime, I have seen that there is this kiwi fruit supplement that promotes growth of F. prausnitzii. Alternatively, you could do what I am doing, and simply up your intake of kiwi fruit
I’m not sure how many you’d have to eat, but every bit helps!
Here is the science: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5672330/ Although they are using it for constipation in this case, there is a lot of research on F. prausnitzii depletion in IBD.

Considering kiwi fruit is cheap (I paid $2 for 6), I figure it can’t hurt. I tried two yesterday and will have another two today and may gradually build.
