One important note on prednisone and exercise, it weakens tendons. We had a poster tear a tendon off of the bone while on pred. Given that will not happen with light weights and light cardio. Just a reminder to those gym-nuts who are power lifting, and pushing one's self to extremes that that's about as much of a no, no as you get while on prednisone!
Exercising on prednisone is going to result in a longer healing time after exercise, so even light exercise will feel the next morning like you had a hell of a workout the day before. You still might be sore and achy from yesterday's exertion the next day. Perfectly normal, and expected.
Keep moving while on pred, the bone wasting affect of pred is reduced when you're exercising. Up your calcium, vitamin D, and potassium intake while on pred (as those are all nutrients pred wastes from your body). A glass of milk and a banana a day can help (for those of us who aren't bothered by dairy). Cheers!
