Ok guys so I do bodybuilding contests basically professionally and after every prep I get a flare and or no stop bloating. I do great on a modified low carb or keto diet but obviously we need food and carbs to grow so after the show when I’m off-season the flare begins and I have huge stomach distention. I’ve tried ginger, probiotics , acv, digestive enzymes and still bloat o dunno what to do?

Every time I come off prep I have a flare last 2 years literally the onky thing I change is more cheats obviously (sugar and gluten) then I come off the prep chems

I'd wonder if your bloating is at its root a food-intolerance? Do gluten or dairy seem to affect you? I've heard some say that body building supplements do bother their UC, often full of fillers that might be problematic for us.

Yes I do zero dairy and it seems gluten def affects me stuffy nose and bloat too

If you're flaring annually, then simponi alone is an insufficient maintenance med regiment (might need an oral mesalamine and/or rowasa enema). I'm not as familiar with simponi dosing as other humira/remicade, but I am willing to bet once-a-month could be increased to at least twice a month, I'd ask.

Remissions are meant to last a series of years, with a proper maintenance treatment regiment.

Have you been tested for SIBO in the off-season? The Keto diet would kill it but when you stop then the bacteria start growing again which produces gas, bloating and other GI things. It can mimic a UC flare.

SIBO is Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth. There is an easily administered breathing test.

You can take the test at your Gi’s Office. They can also write a script for a home test. If you do have SIBO then you’ll need a script for xifaxan.

I would recommend doing at your GIs office and get it all out of the way.
