That's good! Mucus is our very least concerning symptom. If you mention it to your gastero doc then you are unlikely to get any concern at all. Why? Mucus in stool doesn't correlate with inflammation or flares. As our IBS friends have a lot of issue with mucus in stool, and by definition they are inflammation-free.
Sometimes you are best not to look, as there are a lot of false-positives from doing so. Unless you are seeing obvious blood on your toilet paper after wiping, or a red-slick of obvious blood across the toilet water surface then it is nothing to be concerned about.
