Here I go again. Got my test results back from my doctor today. Blood work showed high level of inflammation and he ordered a trough test done tomorrow. I do hope my Remicade isn't 'wearing out' on me. After over 20 years of UC, now my flares are different. Used to get sudden urges...loose, bloody, painful gut and just plain miserable. Now I am having sudden urge, but no diarrhea, semi formed, small amount of poop. I am SO tired of this junk. I'll never learn or remember all of the medical terms, I guess I'll always be embarrassed by this illness and I just thank God that I have an understanding family. I wish only the very best for everyone on this forum. Of all the sources I've searched since this 'adventure" began, this is the most informative and understanding group. I am sorry you're dealing with inflammation. Good luck with the test tomorrow. Maybe you can do a dose adjustment or increase the frequency? I guess over time people with more severe disease deal with some permanent changes to their colon, and that can contribute to this urgency you're experiencing. Have you had a scope recently at all? or a calprotectin? Blood work is pretty vague. I've had moderate/severe flares and had no changes in my blood. That said, urgency is my least favorite of all UC symptoms and the one I am least able to tolerate. You have a lot of options, so don't stress. Are you using rectals or anything? If you have't been scoped in a long time, it's a good idea to have scopes yearly after 10 years, you're past 10... If you got scoped you would know what's going on, and you could treat accordingly.

Uh oh sorry to hear you'ev got high inflammation levels. Let us know how that test goes.
