At varying times all of the below. Bad flares had multiple if not all at once. Mild flares had just one, often jsut the blood on tp after wiping.
- bright red blood on toilet paper? Yes.
- slightly lumpy red blood on toilet paper? Yes.
- streaks on former poop? Yes.
- blood in toilet Yes.
- blood mixed into poop Yes.
- blood diarrhea. Yes.

Or Hemmorhoids can provide a false positive on reasons for bleeding with otherwise normal stool?
Until the hemi poked out of my sphincter and showed itself externally, I was worried I was flaring mildly for months. about the only thing I can say for certain was that the hemi bleeding was inconsistent, I'd have a couple bad days with blood, nothing for a series of days, and then mix and repeat. Generally speaking UC blood from a flare is consistent and does not come and go like that. In the end your general-practitioner or family doc can take a white glove and check. A hemi is very painful to the touch so an internal hemi would be obvious with the white glove and finger. An external hemi is very painful, and is visible with a squat over a mirror. It's frustrating not knowing what the cause is when either can cause blood.
