How long have you been on the 75mg of 6mp vs the 100mg that you were started on? And what is your body mass (in pounds or kg)?
How severe was your UC when first diagnosed, and what extent was it (ie, how much of your rectum/sigmoid/colon had active UC)?
If it was fairly mild and/or fairly limited when you were diagnosed, that *might* sway your thinking a little and mean it's more likely you could get by on just mesalamines.
But the truth is you just can't know for sure either way. Say you stop the 6mp and flare in 6 months. You'll blame the flare on stopping the 6mp. But there's no way to know for sure that is the reason. You might have flared anyway in 6 months, even if you'd stayed on the 6mp. Say you stay on it and don't flare for the next 3 years. You'd credit the 6mp. But maybe even if you had stopped it, you'd go the next 3 years without a flare.
I'd say if your disease was mild and/or limited at onset, and you've gone this long without flaring lately, and the blood test shows you're below therapeutic levels of 6mp, that it's pretty reasonable to stop it.
If you do flare, you can always restart it and go to a dose that's higher and is therapeutic if necessary.
