Blood from c diff

I got c diff after taking antibiotics for gum infection. Doctor put me for 10days Vancomycin. This happened 4 months ago. My symptoms before treatment were mushy stools and bloody mucus. Symptoms has been improved after treatment, except for I still see very minimal blood after bowel movement, this does not happen everyday, but I get tiny little bloodshot every 3-4days. I got negative feces test done 2 months after treatment. The tiny little blood is not from hemorrhoids and doctor said it could take times to heal due to the tissues inside damaged by c diff before. Although, the blood is much lesser (80% lesser than before) , but this already been 4 months after treatment and c diff free. Is this normal it still has not recovered? How long does it recover in general? How long does the blood will clear up? I have tried every possible way to make myself recover, to have probiotic everyday, cut all the dairy food and so forth, but it has not recovered. I am very upset and almost crying every day. I am worried it turns into ulcerative colitis. I heard that UC cannot be cured and have to on long term medication. What if the Ulcerative Colitis due to cdiff, can this be cured? Will this need medication foverer? Please help.

No, it's not normal to still be seeing blood 4 months after supposedly being clear of c diff. I'd be asking for more stool tests for c diff and other infectious causes. Go to a different doctor if your current one is not being helpful. When I had c diff., my blood was gone when I was done with my rounds of antibiotics. It took me a few rounds of Vanco to get rid of it.

C diff doesn't cause UC.

Thanks for the responses. The blood is very minimal and almost unnoticeable, but I have a careful look at the stools, I know it is still there. This has been so stressful every time I saw the blood, even it is very minimal. I have almost lost faith and lost hope. I will have colonscopy next 2 weeks to see what the inside is. I hope everything turns good.

I have never heard of C-Diff causing UC. I would guess internal hemorrhoids.

What you describe is not normal, and you should NOT except it as normal.If you're still bleeding 4-months after c diff supposedly cleared up, then I would contact your doctor and tell him/her about it. C diff is known to reoccur, repeatedly for some people. You might need another stool test to check again and make sure the c diff hasn't started again. Your doctor might want to do endoscopy and see what's going on.
