Thanks doing some reading on this, this afternoon. Still a bit deer-in-the-headlights but get the general gist of it I think (haven't taken a microbiology class in decades). A much smaller molecule and functions inside the cell. Biologics are huge molecules that function on the cellular-exterior. I know biologics are proteins birthed from a living cell lineage. Not sure on xeljanz, it says much easier synthesized and should be a lot cheaper than biologics in the future, but could not ascertain how they are made...
Yeah, they do not think antibodies are possible with JAK-inhibitors.
The interesting bit is the very short half-life of this drug. It's clearance rate is waaay fast. Means skipping your daily dose, non-compliance, can quickly bite you on the bumm. So certainly strict-adherence and not forgetting doses is paramount.
