Frankincense helps reduce inflammation to help your gut function properly.
Most effective doses reported:
·Ulcerative Colitis: 350-400 mg, three times per day.
·Crohn's disease: 1200 mg, three times per day.
Frankincense may interact with anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications you may be already be using, so discuss with your healthcare provider first before taking.
I have had ulcerative colitis now for 4 years. I flared for 2 years and was seeing a Natural Path taking natural medicine for my flare only. I did use hydrocortisone twice for about
a week each time when things were too much for me to handle. I found research on Boswellia and that it helped 80% of those with ulcerative colitis get into remission. I thought I would try it out. And it helped ! I then became pregnant and continued taking it thoughout my pregnancy. I slightly flared during the last trimester and after delivery, but after a few months I felt great again! I stay away from foods that cause issues of course, but otherwise am not afraid to eat foods. Yes!! My bowel movements stick to just in the mornings and I can live with that!.
I myslef buy NOW Boswellia Extract 500 mg and take 2 a day (morning and evening). I also take Ashwagandha, a multivitamin, turmeric/curcumin supplement, as well as vitamin D3 and B complex (with B12).
I just wanted to share what has helped me and is helping me with my ulcerative colitis in hopes that it may help someone else who is struggling with the same disease.
I am 34 and have a healthy 6 month old baby girl.

Boswellia was a godsend for me and is one of the core supplements that I will be on for life.

The
now/b] brand is what I have been using. Boswellia Extract (Boswellia serrata) 500 mg . I know there are others on market that are different than this kind. I have used a different brand once before after I moved from Minnesota until I found the
now
brand that I like. 😁 I order mine from eBay.

I have been using boswellia for a few years now but did not always include it in my signature. I thought it was working with curcumin to keep my joints greased. But it probably is also working synergistically with curcumin for UC as well so I will include it in my signature.

Ditto for curcumin, and a form that is hydro-soluble absorbs better.
