I've been with UC for many years through which I've taken more series of pills than I care to remember. Some worked for a short period, others did nothing. I felt this is how I would live the rest of my life. Three years ago I started Humira with high expectations. After six months I discontinued. It proved worthless although for other maladies it seems to work well.
Finally, I read about Entyvio and approached my GE about trying it. At that point, I was willing to try anything. The results of my first and second infusions led me to believe this wouldn't work either. However, the third infusion seemed to show improvement in my symptoms. This was just over two years ago. I continue with the infusions every 8 weeks and when I say it has given me a new life, it's no exaggeration. Symptoms have disappeared and I'm now a "normal" person.
My GE is pleased with the latest colon procedure and I can now enjoy a movie, restaurant, car trips, etc. without concern.
It takes about one hour, a needle is inserted in your arm, which is not a problem, the infusion itself takes about 30 minutes during which I watch TV, read, play with my phone, etc. They even supply coffee and goodies. Another 30 minutes is needed to ensure there are no reactions. I understand that unlike other meds, this one is made exclusively for UC sufferers and it goes directly to the colon where it does its thing but be patient. Relief may take several infusions but you'll be well on your way.
I hesitate to say this will definitely help you but my experience will lead me to suggest that you try it. Little to lose and a whole new world to gain. Much good luck!
