biopsies and constipation

I had a surveillance colonoscopy exactly one week ago today. It was the biopsy that showed I have ulcerative colitis not the colonoscopy itself.

My question is it's been a week and haven't had a bowel movement.

How long has it taken for you all to get regular after a colonscopy.and 2 day prep

No, no pain at all. I call the doctor's office tomorrow.

It's not all that unusual not to have a bowel movement for a few days after a scope. Remember, the prep totally clears out your GI system. It has to "fill back up" again before you'd need to have a bowel movement.

After most of my scopes, I've gone 3-5 days before my next bowel movement. One full week is long, but it's not unheard of and may be normal for you.

If you get pain and/or bloating and a feeling of constipation, it could indicate an issue. But if you feel ok, don't stress too much.

Yeah, the next day or two days later for me, too. Have you gone yet?
