Part of the reason why they discharged me from the hospital is that it had already been 1 week, and they needed to minimize my risk of infections. I had a private room, but that didn't seem to matter. They gave me a stool test when I got to the hospital, but not on leaving. With the amount of blood and frequency, I wonder if an infection would even come up in a stool test right now? Anyway... your advice is good.
I'm amazed that nopal water did it for you. I wonder if it was just really flushing out your system somehow. I feel like UC flares fill us up with a lot of waste byproduct from inflammation and dying tissue. Have you ever had your detox genetics done? Mine are pretty bad. I have SOD2 and GSTP mutations which means my body does not make enough antioxidants.
It's funny how the things that get you better in one flare may not work in the next. And by funny I mean... depressing.
