So I’m waiting on my colonoscopy which is scheduled for Nov 15th. Diagnosed with proctitis 8 years ago. Was in remission for 8 years until recent issues. Symptoms changed but resolved in a little over a week. What I can’t seem to get rid of is my very distended belly, fatigue and occasional ever so slight nausea. I look pregnant because it bloats from the high part of my abdomen. I’m also still gassy. I continue to take the Canasa every other night. I can’t tell if my symptoms are from my recent switch to generic Canasa or something else is going on. I notice that my stomach is “off” if I eat sugary foods. So I noticed some symptoms on Halloween. I don’t get pain at all and I wouldn’t describe it as cramps. I get a fleeting sensation over my upper abdomen that lasts a few seconds and is sometimes relieved by passing gas. I’m happy my colonoscopy is not far away but I feel like my doctor doesn’t test me for much until I twist his arm. I had a stool sample tested and I don’t have c.diff or any other infection.
I want to make sure the doctor isn’t missing anything like an ulcer, gallbladder or pancreas issues because I hear if so many people with UC also having those. Should I call the gastro docs office and ask them to bloodtest me for something or should I try and address this with my primary care office? To recap, I don’t have urgency, diarrhea, constipation, mucus or blood.
