Silver has been discussed here from time to time. There is some evidence it has antibacterial properties.
Except for infectious colitis, the need is for anti-inflammatory or other immunomodulator and not anti-bacterial. This might suggest silver offers little.
Unless there is a model of how silver might manipulate gut microbes to get an indirect effect on UC, or that silver has other bio-active mechanisms than as an antibiotic.
I am generally skeptical of things that are purported to work for "all sorts of ailments", and prefer things that are supposed to work on the ailment I care about, and have reasonable mechanisms proposed for how they might work.
