Uceris foam helping but iron causing issues

Hello everyone so as mentioned previously ive been flaring for a long time. I started prednisone about two months ago and as soon as i would taper my symptoms would come back. Over the years uceris has been my miracle drug but this time it did not work too well as i tried it before starting prednisone. My goal is to reach remission and getting back on my ayurvedic meds. I recently decided to try to uceris foam while still on prednisone and the foam has definitely made a huge difference for me. I am currently anemic as well. My main issue is as soon as I got iron infusions my flare gets triggered and I really need the foam to work now but iron has really been bothering me. Has anyone been stuck in such a situation?

I believe iron at least in oral form is a problem for most of IBDers. With infusions the direct impact on colon should've been milder but it still can have side effects that range from abdominal pain to triggering relapses.

For me personally what has made a huge difference is taking smaller doses of iron supplements first thing in the morning on empty stomach together with vitamin C and high dose of probiotics and avoiding any food/drinks for at least an hour after to allow for as much iron as possible to be absorbed. Probiotics compete for the rest of the unabsorbed iron and prevent other bacteria in colon to take advantage of that iron. Overall this protocol has hugely lowered side effects of iron supplementation for me personally since in the past when I was taking iron alone it would trigger inflammatory reaction (pain/bloating/mucus etc) in sigmoid part of my colon within few hours.

I have always had problems with the iron supplements but it seems everytime i get Iv iron my bm increases and becomes watery.
