Hi Guys,
Me again, My doctor is not very helpful, so I am again asking your thoughts. I finished the steroid enema taper ( Betnesol) and oral mezavant a week ago. I am still experiencing mucous ( sometimes clear, sometimes yellow/white/brown). I am currently still on oral mezavant 2 pills twice daily. I have been doing nightly vitamin E enemas since stopping and as I tapered off Betnesol, which haven't made the mucous go away but I haven't gotten worse yet altho I have seen pin point specks of blood here and there. My doctor asked me to try Pentasa enemas this week to which I was hesitant as the salofalk suppositories made my mucous WAY worse and never again will use them. I figured since Pentasa is an enema, I could try it, at this point anything to try and be rid of the mucous. So I did pentasa last night and this morning I had Diarrhea type super loose stool, which I have never had at all during this flare and increased mucous, not as bad at the suppository but definitely more then when I was doing just Vit E. After searching the forum for hours I have found, some ppl have also had these symptoms and are intolerant, but then why would I be able to tolerate the oral pill form? I have also read some people take a few days to a week to adjust and an increase in mucous etc to start is normal and it goes away after? Once again I don'y know whether to risk it and do it another night and potentially be worse off or to just stop and go back to VIT E? My doctor won't esclate my meds or put me back on steroid enemas as my symptoms are so " mild" so dont think I have other options. Any other options to try or suggestions? ( I have followed everyone's reccos thus far from this forum, increase fiber pills, vitamins, scd diet, I even did the spinach/sunbutter and I am still doing it now altho dont think it helped?)
Thanks
