Hi Guys,
I am still in this extremely difficult to treat ulcerative proctitis flare from February... The meds that worked in my last flare for me didnt work this time ( steroid enemas-Betnesol & Mezavant). I am resistant to 5-ASAa this time around sadly ( suppositories & enemas), they just give me diarrhea/increased mucous.
As time has gone on struggling with trial and error of meds, I am now finding I can't eat anything other then bananas, apple sauce, chicken, carrots, onions broccoli and smooth peanut butter...eating these items I have formed perfect stools ( still mucous and blood). When I eat/add in anything else in it seems I get super loose fluffy disintegrating stools, diarrhea, increase in BMs ( from 1-3 up to 3-10) and some blood in the mucous.
Is this normal? To be so limited in what one can eat to have formed stools?
I have never had issues with food previously ( I have always been on SCD diet) I understand all flares are different, but it so odd since I could tolerate other foods earlier on in this same flare and now I can't eat much...
Anyone else struggle with this? thoughts?
Thanks
