Have you gotten the Shingles Vaccine?

Contemplating getting the shingles vaccine - if you’re beyond that 50-ish age have you gotten them?
Any adverse reactions?

No I haven't but have contemplated it so I am also interested to read any responses.

I have had both of them, had the second just recently. I do have a reaction, mostly just extreme fatigue for a day or so.

My husband and I had them in 2019, but forget exactly when. He had no side effects. I had a headache and fatigue the evening after the first one. After the second one...I had headache, chills, and body aches starting 10ish the evening of and throughout the night. I was a bit off the next day, but nothing more.

Not really who you're asking but I got it at 25 (F) under the GI's recommendation because I started using Xeljanz. Two doses of Shingrix two months apart. Arm muscle where I got the shot was sore for a few days both times, nothing else. My dad got the shingles twice around 60 but never got the vaccine for some reason...

I tried to get shingrix (am on xeljanz) but it's out of stock in Europe - apparently Germany and Japan bought out all the supplies- so I'll have to wait.
The hospital did check my antibody levels for herpes zoster and they were very high (i had chickenpox in my 20s) so I'm not immediately worried, but will definitely get shingrix when it's available in my country

I got mine before starting Xeljanz, no side effects for me, couple of years back.
I had shingles twice earlier in life, turn 80 next month.

I got in the shingles in the summer..I had used the steroid foam for about a month but it was also about 95 degrees with 70 percent humidity....so it was a hard physically

but mine weren`t bad..lasted a week and not painful...

I got shingles at the age of 30, very likely for the reason that I was on azathioprine for my UC.

I can't exactly remember but I may have gotten the shingles vaccine afterwards with no bad effects. But I was early 30s at the time.
