I got my results today from my September colonoscopy. Three of the polyps were HYPERPLASTIC POLYPS, which from what I read, are harmless. But one was a TUBULAR ADENOMA which is precancerous. I am trying to not worry! My prep failed and he had a hard time doing the scope so now I am worried he missed something. Plus I am worried that I will get cancer down the road. He is recommending a repeat scope in three years but that seems like a long time.
My sister was diagnosed with bile duct cancer last month and one of the risk factors is UC! I sent my doctor an email asking if there is anything else I should be doing preventative wise. Anyone else get tis diagnosis after their scope?

I have a precancerous polyp a while back and we repeated the colonoscopy in 6 months with a blue dye which helps make polyps more visible. I think I had another one in another 6 months or it could have been a year. Just had another scope (18 months after the previous one with no polyps) and this time they found another polyp. No biopsy results yet but the dr mentioned waiting another 12-18 months to repeat. I imagine that could change depending on the biopsy.
Personally I would not want to wait 3 years.

I would insist on repeating Colonoscopy within 6 months. For better preparation before colonoscopy you can try laxative mineral water (with MgSO4).

Thank you both. I emailed my doctor and told him my worries. Hopefully he will redo the scope sooner.
