Hi all, Have only been lurking for a while since I'm in remission!! I have a question about
the covid vaccine and the theory of people building antibodies to it if they don't get the 2nd dose of the vaccine. Is there a possibility of having antibodies to Remicade....vanish after a time; or is it the case of....once you get antibodies, you'll always have antibodies to....whatever? I hope this makes sense to SOMEONE....because I'm too dang dumb to understand what I've been reading. Thanks and be safe all.

Covid is so new as a disease and the vaccine even newer I don't think anyone knows how long the antibodies will last yet. I have read that if you had Covid they think the antibodies last 7 months, but if that's the case then the people who were affected at the beginning are now susceptible again.
I haven't read anything about
how long the vaccines last. I don't think did any trials with single doses of the vaccine. I read somewhere that after the first dose it's theorized that it will be about
50% effective vs 95% for 2 doses. But as I said, I don't think a single dose was tested in the trials.
I know I have read here that some people have developed antibodies to Remicade and upped their dose and were able to stay on it. I don't know if the antibodies ever went away though. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on that.

I was in hospital March 25-30th with Covid. I was extremely sick. My antibodies are very high. 2.8.

That's good, 3tc! Nice to know that the antibodies are lasting longer than what I had read.
