Antibody test after Covid vaccine

I know, that stinks, PA!

I did have antibodies but ongoing Budesonide has really lowered them. I had 1104 U/ml (the spike protein test used by Johns Hopkins study) one month after my second Pfizer vaccine. I started Budesonide aprox 3 weeks prior to the 3 month test and there are now only 246 U/ml. :-( I think my UNC test was only 11, also a few weeks after being on Budesonide. darn steroids.

Alright, maybe 10 is fine then. Thanks for pointing that out. I also wish their results were listed with which medication people were on.

I dont think going on steroids after you get the shots would make any difference. It only matters before you get the shot. That's my understanding. I went on prednisone 3 weeks after my second shot.

My doctor said that too. It only matters while you are building up antibodies. Once you build them up what you take shouldn’t effect them. Plus I thought Budesonide wasn’t a steroid that effected the whole body. My GI said that for UC patients the medication that is really bad for building antibodies is prednisone. They are finding people’s levels (everyone’s) are declining over time. That is why there are some arguments about a 3rd shot especially after 6 to 9 months… especially in immunocompromised people and those over 65.

Yeah, budesonide shouldn't matter that much. I agree with you about wanting more information about the results, and comparisons to "normies." Lol. Maybe they will cover that in their report when the study is complete.

I watched the CDC advisory committee discussion today. It was just a data collection meeting. More meetings will be held in August. Information shared so far was it was beneficial for immunocompromised patients to receive a 3rd shot and not causing aversive events but they were smaller studies. Doctors were pretty much telling the CDC they need to figure this out soon because the immunocompromised are already taking it upon themselves to figure out how to get a 3rd vaccination. Those doctors are also reporting no aversive events in those patients.

I have had 3 covid vaccines. 1x Astrazeneca and 2x pfizer. Officially this is not allowed but an opportunity presented itself, so I took it.

They say mixed vaccines (specifically astra followed by pfizer) gives a stronger immune response and might work better for immunocompromised patients.

I had side effects after all 3 shots but luckily no flare. I tested my inflammation levels 4 days after the 3rd shot. CRP was high (vaccines can do that) but my calprotectin was 12.

I've done a finger prick blood test which showed I have a strong antibody level at the moment, but no numbers to quantify

I am still very scared of long covid and have anxiety being indoors with multiple people.

I am six months out from 2nd Pfizer shot and got results from Labcorp test today. It shows 16.6 units/ml. I assume this is the same number everyone else is referencing. I take remicade infusions every 6 weeks. It seems this number is comparable to what others are getting?

Based on information information published by a biologist on facebook (yeah, I know), that result is way below average and likely offers very little protection. It looks like most here may have similar numbers.

I just wonder if the biologist you are following is looking at this test. There are many different ones. I think someone posted on here that they are in 2 different studies and got totally different numbers. Not saying are numbers are great. I watched the CDC meeting on Friday and the big discussion was about the different results with the different tests.

I hope you are right but she seems pretty confident. I'm not sure, It appears that most of you got your test from the UNC prevent covid study. Looking at it further, even thought they used Lapcorp it appears that UNC used a different numbering system. A 10 on the UNC data may in fact be much better than my 16.6 Lapcorp result. I went directly to LapCorp for my test and the results were pulled from my account on their website. My results are..... 16.6 in a green box....it says reference range <0.8 U/ML ......< than 0.8 is negative and > than 0.7 is positive

The prevent covid preliminary findings looks to present its numbers in a ug/mL format. This may be different altogether than the U/mL format on Labcorp. Can anyone confirm which type of numbers that are stating their results show?

I guess I am just convinced that my findings are very low which may be uncommon even for remicade users. If so, I will likely be pursuing a third shot.

The John Hopkins one which is using a different test is getting higher test numbers than the UNC test. My test was called the cov2quant IGg test - my level was 12 IG/ml. Anything 1 or above was positive. Looks like you may have done the test John Hopkins used. Is the biologist saying what level they want to see?

This is all confusing to me but per my understanding she converts the different numbers to a U/mL rate. That is what is so confusing. Some numbers appear to be based on ug/mL (micrograms), looks like yours may be IG/mL, etc...

I'm sure you realize that his theory is not based on any evidence ... it's just is prognostication ... research it. The former president would be in trouble since he got the vaccines if that guy is right. Also, that doc's expertise is surgery, not vaccines or internal med.

I'm also VERY tired of people saying it's their right to make the choice whether take the risk of getting Covid. IF they are living in a bubble and never come into contact with anyone else, then I agree. But when you are putting others at risk by not masking up or getting the vaccine then that is not giving others a choice and is so unbelievably self absorbed it blows my mind. Ayn Rand would be proud.

If all the crazy media we are now exposed to had been around in the 50s & 60s we would still be seeing children with polio in iron lungs in hospital wards. May the gods help us all if Covid mutates into something far more deady than it already is.
