Back when I got "booted" there wasn't a global pandemic; I am on the right side of history. Antivaxxers are infecting, killing, and ruining peoples' lives. If they do not want to participate in a civilized society they should be shipped off to an island to infect each other and let us continue our lives in safety. This 3rd wave in the US is entirely because of the antivaxxers, antimaskers and the freedumb crowd.

My sisters anti-vaxxer friend (female, mid 40s) has just been hospitalized with covid. Earlier in the week my sister mailed her an oximeter and she laughed... well it turns out her ox saturation is 80...(you need hospitalizing when it goes below ~94)

momtoboys -- hope you feel better quickly. That sounds like how I felt after my 2nd Pfizer. Which one did you get?

The hospital group here announced they will start giving the boosters tomorrow so I am going to check to make sure I can go to one of the walk in sites they have. I should be able to get it either tomorrow or Friday

I got a 3rd dose of Pfizer. I am much better today but yesterday was really rough. (I’m also not good at being sick). I had chills and body aches all day yesterday. The only thing I had from the first two doses was a headache and tiredness. Hopefully this means this one will bump up my antibody levels.

For those who have had it, was your reaction to the 3rd shot better or worse than your reaction to the 2nd?

I see momto2boys had it worse. .. my 2nd dose hit me pretty hard for a good 30 hours so I'm worried about the 3rd.

I had side effects after all 3 vaccines, they were different each time (and included fever, headache, chills and muscle aches) but i can't say one was worse than the other. Only after the 3rd shot i had a headache for over a week which was very annoying.

Note: i did AZ -Pfizer-Pfizer. AZ is known for giving the strongest side effects on the 1st shot.

The way that I see it is that it is still much better than getting covid, even if you are twice vaccinated. Either 0-1 days of feeling sick or 4+ days being sick with a breakthrough infection. We do not have a lot of great information about the immunocompromised patients and how well protected we are. I'm more than happy to feel icky for 24 hours to mitigate some of my risks against covid.

My Second shot I was out of it for two days. I had Moderna. Honestly, I was not even going to get the vaccine but I figured I would be traveling back and forth to Florida and I knew businesses were going to require it before you could go back to work. Everyone has to do what is comfortable and best for them.

Delta is more contagious but less severe. The currently available vaccines work for alpha (the wuhan strain), and confer mixed effectiveness. Israel, the UAE, Iceland, Seychelles and Singapore are all have 80% or more of their populations vaccinated and they are experiencing waves of delta and rising cases.

The vaccine mitigates severe disease but it doesn't prevent disease. I personally am not getting vaxed because I can't risk flaring, and I'm in a part of the world where the chances of getting covid in general are low.

Each wave of the virus will get weaker and weaker, so one day I hope to get covid when it's weaker so I can build natural immunity. I don't trust the vaccine due to underreporting of ADRs. If it harms me, my doctors won't help me, and if it makes me flare I'll be back at square one.

I’ll be going for my 3rd moderna next week. I had a pretty severe reaction to #2 so am a little worried what’s going to happen. But it’s not going to stop me!

And so what IF it is less deadly? You can still get sick and flare; need a lung transplant, stroke, or any of the dozen or so severe side effects. Hospitals are filling up with antivaxxers.

I am not so sure Delta is less severe -- hospitals are out of ICU beds in many states that have low rates of vaccination and are even too full for normal illnesses and accidents. If you have already been vaccinated then Delta will likely be less severe for those who get infected.

I just had my 3rd Pfizer a few hours ago. Will let you know if I feel bad later or tomorrow. The 2nd shot wiped me out with the symptoms that momtoboys described above.

I’m recovering from Delta and I would much rather have had a 3rd vaccine. I’m 2 weeks out and still can’t taste or smell and the fatigue is bad. It was not fun and I supposedly had a mild case. I never want to get this again!

Have a friend who got covid in December before vaccines were available and still has no smell or taste. He almost killed himself/burnt the house down because he’d left the gas stove on unlit and he couldn’t smell the gas. His wife came home about 3 hrs later and the gas odor was so strong she smelled it in the garage and he was sitting in there like nothing. So it can be the oddball effects that can be dangerous too

These have not been scientifically validated yet. So much uncertainty.

I'm not going to waste my time fighting with pro-vaxers, it goes nowhere. I'm not anti-vax and I'm not saying don't get shots, but that this isn't totally validated, and that we will find out the truth about this down the road. Find out all you can before you decide. Don't just do it because the CDC is telling immune compromised people to do it. Read more sources. Get informed.

There is no long term data yet. Again, I'm not saying covid isn't dangerous, but I'm saying learn all you can about these experimental drugs before you go forward. Make sure your consent is 100% informed. I am concerned, that's all.

You are volunteering for an experiment. Make sure you know the ins and outs. Cheers.

Van, I got a chuckle out of your comment about pro-vaxers. I say the same about anti vaxers lol.

I had my booster yesterday. No side effects at all. Even my arm isn't hurting like it did with the 1st 2 shots. I was talking to the nurse when she gave me the shot and she said they often have to waste the vaccine because once the vial is open they have 6 hours to use it and they don't always have 6 people to give it to. So sad. Pfizer should start packaging the vaccine in smaller vials (single use?) and get more vaccine to the rest of the world.

I remember reading months ago that even the vials are a scarce/limited commodity because suddenly there is a demand for billions of them.

What would reduce wastage is centralising the vaccine locations, rather than lots of little places. For a few months where I live the health authority hired out exhibition centres which had the capacity to vaccinate thousands of people per day. Now they are scaling those down because too few people are wanting/needing vaccines...

I have never met an admitted antivaxxer in real life, they always say that they aren't antivaxxers followed by some reason like autism, mercury, fertility issues, unproven, yada yada yada about why they refuse vaccines.

Van is arguing that the 3rd dose is unproven for immunocompromised patients while he is currently vaccinated with zero doses. His plan is to hope for the future virus variants to weaken if/before he catches it. 95+% of the current hospitalized covid patients are not fully vaccinated and 99% of the deaths are from patients who aren't fully vaccinated.

I'd rather stick with science and statistics than hopes and luck for my future health.

Long term side effects unknown. Vaccine trials usually require 4-8 years or so. Phase IV trials were bypassed for public use. One long-term effect may be auto immune, just saying.

People should do their research so that at least their consent is fully informed. This isn't an RX drug. It's volunteer only.

You neglected to mention the known effects of Covid. There are 630K+ dead Americans and 80k currently in the hospital; strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary issues, erectile disfunction, loss of taste and smell are known side effects of covid infections, just saying.

As of today, doctors are starting to refuse treating covid patients who are not vaccinated. Beds and care are being prioritized for vaccinated patients who have been responsible and have a greater chance of survival.

Good luck to all the antivaxxers and antimaskers out there, you're going to need it. There are effective and safe vaccines out there, whether you believe the science or not.

Because I am always researching and I had not heard that the vaccines might cause autoimmune I looked it up and read several articles from different sources. Turns out that the person who started that claim is an antivaxxer who was referring to a study that theorized that having Covid might cause autoimmune. The study was done before the vaccines were available and had nothing to do with the Covid vaccine. There was an older version of mRNA vaccines (long before Covid) that had that possibility, but the mRNA in the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines is different than the older version. Being infected with Covid definitely has the possibility of autoimmune -- the cytokine storm we have all heard about is an autoimmune reaction to Covid for example.

I am gladly taking my chances withe the Covid vaccine though I will admit that last summer and fall I was skeptical with the former president pushing so hard for approval it seemed like he was rushing the science. Since then I have learned more about the vaccines and watched in December and January the people who were getting the vaccines. Nothing serious happened to them. I did my research about mRNA and found out it has been used for several years.

I am completely comfortable with my decision.
