Too much protein is bad for you. It's not a simple matter of eating as much as you can. If you over-eat protein it will get excreted or else it can actually be turned into carbs believe it or not. Like most things here your body is programmed to work out how much you need and it will balance it out. Over or under eating is not the way to go.
Your doctor will monitor your protein levels via blood markers like Albumin. If your protein intake is not optimal it will show up here.
It is good to maintain protein levels though especially if you take biological drugs which are protein based. Those who have low protein can fail such drug therapies as the drug ends up in the toilet then rather than your system.
