Sorry to scare everyone I saw the other thread. All drains are out well interventional radiology drain is out there was a large plus pocket somewhere in my back which when I got out of the hospital on November 24th was still draining 75 mL of pus sometime in December a new drainis put in and repositioned this time we got it all body finally killed the infection. Yes I have a colostomy I have a rectal stump also have a potbelly the incision has healed my right hand which was paralyzed when being stretched out on the surgical table I can now move it fully but it still tingles and is cold last week I drove myself to the barber have been afraid to drive because right hand was not functional finally got my first haircut since October the bag is not particularly fun but my gut seems to work pretty well I've gained back about
8 pounds out of the 20 I lost I was very sick almost cranked out 20 days in the hospital knocked up about
179,000 worth of bills still have some bladder pain some difficulty peeing due to the Foley catheter that's a whole experience in itself but either putting it in or taking it out must have caused some bladder damage or from the irritation my immune system is still going after things it does not like had urine tested a number of times no bacteria. I'm talking into my phone to record this so some of the words might not be spelled correctly. Anyway still here gaining weight take care of myself all the home Care nurses have dismissed me a long time ago cuz I'm pretty much fully functional. I will say this has been a crazy experience. Interestingly enough my surgeon is about
a 30-year-old lady the experience is I guess loss of modesty you're exposed to all those nurses and doctors and after a while you sort of get used to it. I guess that's about
it still in recovery mode but hopefully nothing else will go wrong and I will be around for the grandkids for years to come. I am also known as poppop Mike. See you. Old Mike. PS. Forgot to mention a few things besides my mess. Back in December the wife broke both wrists while ice skating. Moral of the story don't ice skate at 76 she is not out of braces yet but the funny thing is she is not mentally capable of helping me with the bag when I couldn't move my right hand nurses or my son had to do bag changes for me. So after she broke both her wrists and was in hard casts think about
things you can't do for yourself I had to do it for her. Let's see when I last saw the surgeon last month and she did her rectal exam before she did it I told her first do no harm that was a fun experience. Anyhow last thing she said to me was see you in 6 months. As soon as I get fully up and running and covid has died down more I'll have to take her a gift for saving my life and a large shopping bag of candy for the nurses on the floor where I was. You might have noticed I started writing this about
3:00 a.m. I wake up a lot but I go to bed about
7:00 or 8:00. Old Mike
