Old Hat,
I have not heard of that. Have they found any e-coli bacteria in your samples? Did they offer you antibiotics?
My tests have always indicated a gut bacteria but it hasn't been named. I assumed it was from e-coli.
Since my 2019 surgery I have had constant UTIs. I was on antibiotics for 8 months. I finally had a modified APR. (I have a RV fistula that my CRS thought could be part of the problem.) Since then I have had the symptoms of the beginnings of an UTI a few times... But it shows a low level infection caused by citro freundii bacteria.
I tried the Cranberry route and it did not work for me. My nephrologist stated that she had some patients with UTIs that have had success with D-Mannose + cranberry juice. There are studies that you can Google. Many of her patients have tried Uqora added cranberry juice or the cranberry pills to it and found relief. I gave it a try and it worked for me. I am currently on a daily 4 Gram per day dose-sometime 6 Grams plus 2 Azo cranberry juice pills. The "Complete" package Uqura offers is sorta pricey, So I ordered some plane powdered D-Mannose. That was only 27.00?? and has 140 servings (2 grams per serving.) I use one individual packet of the packaged product and up to 3 servings of the plain D Mannose powder. (The D-Mannose pills that you can buy do not work for me. My body absorbs more if the powder mixed in water.)
I don't know if this will work for you.... and honestly, I don't know how long this will work for me. I will be seeing a urologist in about
6 weeks so we will see. I'll let you know how it goes.
