Imuran? Pred taper?

2 weeks on imuran and tapering pred, sudden nausea with dizziness. Anyone had this on imuran after 2 weeks. Only on 50mg

What time of day do you take the imuran? I was always advised to take it after dinner to reduce nausea (which is a common side effect btw).

Are you getting weekly blood work since you started Imuran? I had to get weekly for the first month, then every other week and then I think it would have been monthly until everything stabilized. The reason for all the blood tests it to keep an eye on your blood counts and liver function tests.

I had a lot of nausea but once I change to taking it at night it didn't bother me too much. After about 6 weeks my liver counts were way out of normal and I had to stop taking it

Normal. Definitely take it with your largest meal. I sill get nausea sometimes but only when I take Imuran with a light meal.

I got blood work done at 3 weeks and then 6 weeks, at first. (Two rounds like this because I went up to 100 mg after 4 weeks). Now I get blood work every 3 months.

Thankyou. I will switch to night. So far only the first after two weeks but I will make sure it’s weekly. So far no improvement. How long did it take to see improvement? I don’t want to go back on steroids. Today is my last day and I’m seeing blood and getting abdominal pains again

My doctor told me to not even consider coming off steroids until I was on Imuran for 3 months. I was completely off pred 4 months after starting Imuran.
