Hi Champ (and everyone else!)
Happy New Year!
I am well! Gosh, it's been 4 years since our colons went bye-bye! For me, that means it was about 4 years ago that I started 6 months of chemo for the cancer they discovered. I am still tracked by my oncologist and surgeon, and have bloods drawn every 3 months to check for cancer markers. I just "graduated" from CT scans every 6 months to once a year. I feel as if I am the poster child of this warning: "If you hear the word "dysplasia", do not put off the surgery a few years like I did!"
So far all is excellent, and the surgeon has told me that the worst danger of recurrence was actually in the first year or two, so he thinks we won this battle. But surgery a few years earlier would have been smart.
On the personal front, I am getting ready to semi-retire - I am going to leave my current job at the end of February. We are going to put our house on the market and move to our happy place, about 250 miles away. (I'll find p/t work there.) I'm spending a lot of time sorting and cleaning 22 years worth of family stuff, lol.
I have become one of those people for whom life is so full that I don't check in as often as I thought I would - but I think of my dear friends here and send you good wishes!
