Does anyone else get ads lately that cover the whole screen and make healingwell completely unusable? I can barely read anything without a huge ad blocking the content. There is no way to close them either, which is very frustrating. I am on a phone say the moment.
Happy new year!!!!

The screen moves on me on my computer. It’s annoying but I can handle it.
The issue is when I am typing something and getting towards the bottom of the regular screen

Yes, for the last couple months I've been bombarded on laptop Forum pages with GOOGLE ads, mostly for Zolucky clothing! There are also repeat notices for Missing & Exploited Children. Thanks for inquiring about these intrusions to our space! / Old Hat

On my old tablet I had videos interfering with quick reply... I don't now with my new tablet. I have a stop motion on advertisements and ad blocker. I don't have any issues on my phone...no ad blocker on it.
Considering you're a mod...cant Peter help you out with you having no ads?

This was reported to Peter early November by several people. The ads were covering my laptop too. I now have an ad blocker turned back on so I'm not getting them anymore. I don't use my phone so I don't know about them.

Fine on my phone. Only see adds if I scroll down past the end of the posts

I am on my computer now and it's just as bad as the phone. The computer is somewhat better because you can scroll down past the ad and read the posts that follow, but the top post or two are partly covered by the ad and there's no button to close the ad. If there was just an "x" in the corner it would be so much easier to tolerate.

Yeah the only thing I find I can do (on the computer) is to exit out and come back in again.

If you use Safari then Apple stops a lot of the intrusions and tracking. It could be browser specific.

I get the floating ads on my desktop computer with the Chrome browser but when I use the Fire Fox browser they do not float into my screen. I have no issues on my iPhone using the safari browser.

Interesting RE desktop. On laptop I switched to BING search engine early last year & it did rid me of most ads 'til Nov. '21. Then GOOGLE somehow worked its way in with Zolucky ads mainly. Has anyone here tried using DuckDuckGo on laptop? / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)

In my case changing the search engine has helped-- for now. Very annoying how the I'net now intrudes on personal privacy by promoting all kinds of predatory advertising! / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)

If you use a different browser they are not displayed. I like Firefox. Safari on my iPhone doesn’t display the ads but on both my iPhone and desktop they are displayed on Chrome.

Chrome is a Google browser, very invasive. When I installed it on my old laptop about 5 yrs ago, it immediately prompted to sync my Firefox bookmarks. I didn't choose that option, but then Firefox got the annoying Google ads, mostly for clothing. Firefox and its predecessor Netscape, were far superior to Explorer in Win6XP & earlier versions going back to 1990s. Now the trend in tech upgrades is to promote browsers that sync everything across whatever devices the user has. *** Another annoying aspect of Google: they launched a useful photo viewer, Picasa, ca. 2006, to compete back then with Windows version. At first it was very good, but later versions included a feature that automatically extracted faces from each photo the user had stored, and then combined these into a new file that cannot be deleted! That annoyed me no end! *** I've used institutional desktops running Safari browser with DuckDuckGo search engine, and they do seem to block ads well. *** Thanks, Notso, for bringing up this issue on the forum and thereby helping to protect our desired content. / Old Hat
