Have been talking to a lot of people lately who each have known someone who has had covid twice now — one person 3 times.

So natural immunity doesn’t last against this virus either. Looks like we’re going to be getting either boosters every 5-6 months, or the virus itself. Not saying I want the virus — just resigning myself to getting that shot every 5 months.

I heard that Pfizer (?) is making a booster aimed at omicron and it might be available in March. If so, I might opt for that one since it will coincide with when my 4th shot is due. I had Moderna for the first 3.

I was watching TV awhile back and some person had gotten vaccinated like 5 or 6 times in one week.

I was very disappointed when they didn't indicate her antibody load. LOL.

Not developing antibodies has warped me. But I am not a quitter... I will be going in for the 4th shot.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plans to send a clear message to pharmacies on a conference call this week: Stop turning away immune-compromised people when they come seeking fourth doses of Covid-19 vaccines.

Although fourth doses are not currently recommended for the vast majority of Americans, the CDC has urged millions of people with compromised immune systems to get them.
But many immune-compromised people tell CNN that pharmacies and hospitals have refused to give them fourth doses, leaving those most vulnerable to the virus without the protection the CDC wants them to have.

There are clinical trials just launched for pfizer and moderna vaccines that have been updated to target omicron. I looked to see if I could sign up, but at the moment they're only recruiting in the US and south Africa.

@poopydoop, I read last week Israel is conducting a study on the 4th shot because there is not enough evidence the 4th shot will work on the new variant. Things keep changing that's for sure.

I received my 4th dose 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I went in with a doctors note and printed out CDC info and the nurse called her supervisor. Luckily he knew about immunocompromised getting a 4th shot/booster dose. I had 3 Pfizer and went with Moderna this time. The Pfizer’s were not bad. Moderna kicked my butt. Lol

YES! I had two Pfizers - easy peasy. Then had Moderna, expecting the same. NOT.

RE 3-Pfizer shots: I had different reactions to each. Shot #1, burning flash points in torso within 10 minutes, but recovered within 1 hour. Shot #2, no reaction for 6 hours following injection, then tongue, salivary glands ached and I lost sense of taste for 3 hours, also aches on both sides of coccyx. Shot #3, given in left arm, right elbow hurt a few hours later then delayed reaction 'til 2nd day following injection, when I felt a slight fever at bedtime. 3rd & 4th days I mainly felt tired with some discomfort at injection site. 5th day following injection I started feeling stiffness + pain in sacrum around noon. (That scared me 'cause sacrum had bothered me a lot during 1st UC flare in 1980; otherwise not since then!) I decided to rub in Icy Hot lotion as it contains 30% methyl salicylate. TG, it was fast-acting and I only used 1 additional application several hours later. On 6th day following injection I felt recovered from side effects. Therefore, I hope not to need a 4th COVID vaccine shot! / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)

I have had 3 Pfizer vaccines and 1 Moderna booster
1st Pfizer- nothing for 12 hours at all other than a sore arm. A little bit tired the next day
2nd dose of Pfizer- same as the first except that I had a really bad headache as well around 12 hours later
3rd dose of Pfizer- woke up with chills and a headache in the middle of the night after this dose, had to take Tylenol for 24 hours, slept most of the next day.

Moderna booster- pretty much the same as my 3rd Pfizer dose only everything hit about 8 hours post vaccine instead of 12. My arm was also much more tender this time, it felt sore to the touch for close to 4 days.
