I know this doesn't pertain to the original topic of this thread, but I just wanted to comment on cancer treatments. When I was a child, a cancer diagnosis (ANY type of cancer) was pretty much a death sentence. Now there are many, many treatments -- most are specifically targeted to the type of cancer that was detected. When caught early cancer can now be completely eradicated in many (most?) cases. There are still too many who suffer and die from cancer, but we HAVE come a long way with cancer treatments in the last 50+ years and new treatments are still to come.
That may all sound hollow and of little comfort to those who have lost loved ones due to cancer. I am sorry for your loss and hope that the good memories can override the prolonged and difficult way that they died and allow you to smile when you think of them ... if it's too soon for that now I hope that you will get to that place one day..
