UC flare have a re-induction of Stelara infusion anyone?

My 32 yr old daughter has been in a UC flare since 7/4/22. She has been taking Stelara, Uceris & Lomotil with little to no improvement. She did start VSL3 yesterday. She has been on Stelara every 4 weeks for 2 yrs. Her GI did a re-induction of Stelara infusion on 8/15/22. She has had no positive results yet, but was wondering if anyone else has gone through this & if so how long did it take if you had a good result? She has a lot of anxiety about returning back to school soon (she is a teacher). She started with softer BM's this am. Her GI wants to wait until her next Stelara is due before changing anything ( probably Rinvoq).

I'm sorry you all are going thru this. I utilize Remicade so......I'm not able to help you right now.

I did want to bump this back up to the top so that others will see it and respond.

Someone will hopefully respond and have some insights.

If she is really bad off, she could ask about taking a course of prednisone instead of thr Uceris to tide her over. I've had good success with Xeljanz which is similar to Rinvoq.

Reinduction can work but she is already on it once a month. I almost got reinduced but instead added a second biologic, Rinvoq. The combination seems to be very effective for me and I have been in a deep remission for a year now. I currently am on Stelera monthly and Rinvoq.

I'm not sure I would consider what I did a "re-introduction" but when I restarted Stelara after being off it for 6 months (hip replacement) I had a strong response in about 3 days.
