I'm guessing that the title says it all. The soreness is, no surprise, related to a flare. All suggestions appreciated
. Thanks!

Buy some Calmoseptine. It’s a staple for J-pouchers after their reconnection surgery - you get lots of frequency and butt sore a month or so after the surgery. Calmoseptine is a big help.

Honestly I never found a good solution to this problem. I'm English and I ordered Calmoseptine from the US especially, but I was a bit disappointed with it. It was soothing in the aftermath but it did not actually prevent the excruciating pain that comes from too liquid/acidic stool. That said, it did at least help with the burning afterwards and was definitely better than nothing.

Ditto for Desitin. Zinc oxide relieves the irritation, also acts as a skin protectant, plus safe even for use on babies. / Old Hat (40+ yrs with left-sided UC; in remission taking Colazal)

I did not like calmoseptine at first because of its menthol component. But I much prefer it to desiring now because desitin is oily while calmoseptine and feels drier. It seems to stay put and last longer. IMO.

A&D ointment (for baby diaper rash). You can find it either near wet wipes or baby supplies.
