Hi all, I've been lurking!

Best of all to everyone! I haven't posted in a while because I had been doing well. Had a scheduled colonoscopy in June which showed UC was still with me. I hadn't been having any problems. about a month ago, began having occasional urgency, but no real diarrhea or blood. As time went by, urgency became a little more often, but still not watery diarrhea...sorry about the description...just 'going' about 6 times a day. LOL So, went to my gastro doc. last week, just for a follow up visit. When I told him my most recent symptoms, he ordered a calprotectin test. came back in the thousands. Today, he called and asked me if I'd be willing to switch to Rinvoq. He told me I didn't test positive for antibodies to Entyvio, which I've been on for a couple of years now....but it just wasn't 'doing the job'. So, the reason for my babble is...I was wondering if any of you dear people have tried or are using Rinvoq? I read the internet information...same scary possible side effects of all the biologics. I'm all for trying anything to avoid a full- blown, severe flare. Just trying to get a little information from someone who actually uses it. Thanks as always everyone. I know this drug is not supposed to have results for several weeks..but, after taking it for two days, ALL of my symptoms of a flare just seem to have vanished! Maybe it's a 'mental' thing, but it certainly is great right now. Doctor is still trying to get approval from my insurance. I would hate to finish my sample and my insurance deny it. Saw your other post. Would your insurance approve Xeljanz? It's less new and the same type of medicine.

No problem! I was sad to see they wouldn't pay for your Rinvoq. Glad you have a good doctor.

Thank you Flowers...Doc. is trying to work a deal with Zeposia for their assistance plan since my insurances denied his request for the prescription. I can't feel angry about it since insurance has paid so much over the years. Went for more blood work yesterday, which was requested by the drug company. Thank you, Stray, and everyone for the very good information. This forum has the most informative and kindest people. Best of luck to all, and never give up!!!
