Hi

I’ve got a weekend wedding in Vermont coming up. Flying out Friday morning. Flying back Sunday afternoon.

I’m thinking of using Imodium before both flights.

Your thoughts?

I've never tried it myself, but my previous GI said it was safe to.

I've never used it, but certainly would for an occasion situation. You dont have c.diff...so it's OK for a flare. Although, not for continual use unless your GI specifies.
Enjoy the wedding! Be safe tho...covid is still around. My husband just tested positive, ugh...I haven't as of yet.

I always try to keep Imodium on hand & it works well for me. If I remember right you are stuck with mushy like stools? My dr has no problems with me taking it.

I would experiment with it to see how it works for you but for sure, give it a try. My doctor is fine with occasional use of it as long as you don’t have an infection.

Yeah. GI appointment this Monday scheduled. To go over recent antibody blood test ( I don’t have results yet myself).

I’m stuck taking 10 mg of Inflectra every 6 weeks and taking 9 mg of budesonide every morning since August 1.

Need to come up with a new plan. Switch drugs or increase dosage or something.

Average for at least a month is …getting up for 1 or 2 movements in the night, 1 first thing in the morning, then 2 or 3 more on average the rest of the day. Usually mush, or watery mush or loose mixed with stools. Could be a lot worse. Could be a lot better.

Thanks for the tips on the Imodium. I’ll ask my GI about it Monday but I wanted to get feedback here. I trust the posters here a lot.

Late on the Imodium question... But like Straydog I keep it on hand and use it as needed. Be careful that you don't start out on a huge dose to begin with. I did that once and found myself praying for the days when I had to stop the car and sprint for the nearest bush... Lol..

I bought the white tablets so I could break them into pieces. The directions say to take 2 full tablets to start initially then 1 as needed.

So, I’m guessing from experience, maybe I start out that morning with maybe just half a tablet.

What’s your experience on the best way to dose?

I would just cut one pill in half, perhaps that evening take the other half to see how you do. You don't want to end up constipated for sure.

That's a good plan Susie...find the right dosage that way. Too high can confuse things.

Absolutely. The half a pill dose then try adding alittle more.

I did the 2 pill dose right at the start and was backed up for days. So be cautious learning the amount to take. Some people need a larger dose but others.... they just need alittle.
