I had some steamed oysters (fully cooked) in October and flared the next day. When I googled it, I didn’t see anything indicating they cause a flare. I’d love to think I can still eat them because I’m not sure that’s what did it and wonder if anyone else has an issue with them & UC flares. For background on my issues - I had a flare in August 2021 after 5 years of no flares from my initial issues in 2016, and was finally prescribed mesalamine pills and enemas in February after getting a colonoscopy. They had prescribed me mesalamine suppositories between August and February but they didn't work. After the enemas and pills, I was able to go back to normal in about
3 weeks, then I slowly reduced the number of pills from 4 to 2 and stopped taking the enemas and I was fine for about
7 months. When I had the flare in mid October, it took between 2-3 weeks to get back to normal with 4 pills a day and enemas but I was normal on trips to the bathroom and never had to go 10 plus times a day like before because I upped the pills and took enemas right away since I had them on hand.
Thanks
