Hello everyone, it's been a while since I last posted here. To give you a little bit of background, I've been diagnosed with pancolitis since 2011. I certainly had some struggles with it over the years, but seem to be more or less stable lately. At the end of October, I had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. The colonoscopy came back clear. The endoscopy also visually looked good. However, the endoscopy results showed moderate gastritis due to h. pylori. The interesting thing is, my GI team never communicated this to me. I found this myself in the biopsy files of the patient portal. Is this something I should be concerned about? I reached to my GI, but haven't heard back yet.
I don't have any major upper GI symptoms, just increased upper gas and occasional heartburn. I know that h. pylori treatment consists of antibiotics. I certainly am very scared to pursue that. Now that my colitis is more or less stable, I would hate to do anything to aggravate it. If anyone has any experience with h. pylori treatment, I would appreciate hearing about it.
