Had my 2nd Inflectra infusion today and the same thing happened on my way home -- intense waves of sadness/depression. I fought tears the whole way home. So weird. It's mostly passed now thankfully. I googled and saw some sites that said depression can be a side effect. It's good that it goes away fast.

My benefits admin is still trying to find a way to let me keep going to my current infusion center. It was sounding promising, but not anymore. She is still trying though. I have approval until July so I have some time to find something else if I need to.

It sound like it comes and goes quickly.... But it's still unpleasant. Methotrexate does that to me occasionally so I understand what you are going thru. When it happens to me it's sudden and awful.... Crying copiously with such intense overwhelming negativity. I wouldn't want anyone else to go thru that.

Is there a way to try to get your insurance to switch back to Remicade if you are having this issue?

Heads up....Research before you ask. They might try to switch you to a totally different medication.

I wondered the same thing. Although its one of those probably rare side effects where the doctors might not take you seriously (hopefully they would but Im jaded). Keep an eye on it, regardless.

If that side effect gets worse or lasts longer I will talk to my doc about it. I suspect insurance would want me to switch to a different biosimilar rather than go back to Remicade. Given the huge difference in costs I can't really fault insurance for that. I don't get why remi is still so expensive. There's no reason for it to be about 3 times more than inflectra. It's an older drug an has more than paid for all it's research & development years ago. It won't be long before no insurance will cover it.

Had my entyvio infusion today. On the way home I was all of a sudden in a mad mood. Cussed out every stupid driver (which apparently was every single driver on the road!), walked into a restaurant to get a sandwich to go and walked out again because the line was too long and cussed all the way home. (Before you get the wrong impression, I get my frustration out but yelling at drivers — I don’t drive aggressively!).

I’ve never noticed this after an infusion before. Probably wouldn’t even have connected it to an infusion if I hadn’t read this thread! Will pay close attention next time.
