Started rinvoq

Good boing UCH.... Rinvoq certainly has worked a miracle for me; I hope for you also. It was just as if someone turned off a switch for me! One day I had the familiar urgency, the next I was living life like a 'normal' human being again. I'm still amazed by it. LOL MY only side effect has been a little acne on my face. Not a massive covering but a couple of painful bumps at the time. My dermatologist gave me good advice and told me to leave them alone and not pop them. LOL They fade away after about a dang week. Even that is SO much better than shots of Entyvio, Humira or all the pills. Sorry for babbling, but it is just so great being free of the UC symptoms. So almost 2 weeks in, I'm feeling very cautiously optimistic. I'm down to 10mg steroids, down to 5mg tomorrow for one week.

I don't want to celebrate just yet since I'm still taking pred, and I probably still have some Entyvio left in me (last infusion was 3/14), but I'm feeling pretty great right now. Not 100%, but much better than I've felt in months. I can pass gas now! And I pass a lot of gas lately lol (though that might be a bad thing). My urgency and frequency is way down. Crossing my fingers this lasts and maybe even gets a bit better...man it will be so disappointing if this is just the pred giving me false hope lol.

So far the only side effect that I'm noticing is some acne on my forehead and scalp...it maybe from the pred too though. I will say...I feel like I have no energy lately or I run out of it quicker, I'm thinking it's the pred taper and my body just needs to get used to it. I also have been sleeping poorly because of the pred, so possibly that's why.

UCH, glad you are feeling better! We both started Rinvoq around the same time it seems.
It kicked in faster than any other med I have tried before. It only compares to pred with how fast it works.
I also noticed a strange pimple pop up on my face. It is taking a while to subside and is different to my usual pimples.
Another things is the insane reflux, which I posted about separately.
about the tiredness: I second that! I noticed Iam more tired than usual. My latest bloods show than my haemoglobin is down, even though the ferritin is up. Apparently, Rinvoq can cause anemia. So we will be repeating those tests in a month.
Another thing is the dreams, iam getting lots of vivid dreams. Although that could be because of the reflux, not Rinvoq per se? Because when I have bad reflux, nothing as bad as this though, I have poor sleep.
Anyway, praying for a long remission for us! And no side effects, hopefully, or very manageable ones atleast.
