My dose of Stelara is arriving from CVS CareMark tomorrow.

The J&J patent for Stelara expires in September 2023 so hopefully we will see some pricing relief with more competition.

WHAT? Wow..... That is mind boggling. What do people do who don't have insurance?

Prednisone??? Medicaid?

We have the lowest uninsured rate currently in the history of the US because of the ACA; Thanks, Obama. Most of the states participate in the Medicaid expansion which covers people who cannot afford insurance, they get subsidies to cover all or part of their insurance premiums through the marketplaces. It’s not perfect but better than we previously had.

We really haven’t done much in terms of drug pricing.

Mine is $5 for the copay but just because I pay $5 doesn’t make the MSRP $30k per injection. Our insurance companies don’t pay $30k either but if they average person without insurance had to buy it then it would probably be about $30k a shot.

Most of the other “developed” counties do not have this issue and their citizens have access to better healthcare coverage.
