I am like you conquerUC, I tried the SCD and it was like a starvation diet, especially as I am intolerant to dairy (including yoghurt) and I hate fish. Also some of the illegal foods, like sweet potatoes and chickpeas, do not make a lot of sense to me as they are highly nutritious and anti inflammatory. The main advantage of trying the diet is it did get me to switch to gluten free alternatives rather than having a diet dominated by wheat-based bread/pasta/cereals (I am still 95% gluten free ) so I feel my diet is overall more nutritionally diverse and has more anti inflammatory components. I remember also it made socialising a massive headache, as it's hard for others to accommodate you when you have a list of 20,000 foods that you can't eat.
