I'm on semaglutide for weight loss.
Does anyone know if it increases constipation?
Is it bad for UC?

I went on their website & suggest you do the same, it lists potential side effects. Did you not get a print-out from the pharmacy? Constipation & diarrhea are both listed as SE's.

I can't answer your question about it being good or bad for UC, SE's would scare me, Discuss this with your gi.

J2H I know that Ozempic causes a lot of GI issues. My mom is on it and has pretty bad diarrhea and upset stomach. She is scared to leave the house and won’t go out to each because of crapping herself. I think most of her weight loss is muscle loss honestly. She is a lot weaker on this drug.

My GI and Colorectal surgeon advised me not to go on it. I have issues with obstructions and have had 2 surgeries because of them.... So better safe than sorry.

My BIL. is taking it. He does not have IBD... And he's having issues going to the bathroom. He's started taking shots of milk of magnesia nightly to help.

Please let us know how it goes.

So far I've been losing weight. I think I had diarrhea today, but I'm normally constipated so it was good everything came out. My GI told me that the side effects are constipation, diarrhea and nausea. I got the prescription online, not through my doctor. It makes you feel full and you lose cravings. (pricey!)
