Hi everyone,
Wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything similar or has any insight on this issue...
I've essentially been in remission for 4 years on infliximab, I posted a little while ago about the fact I unfortunately started to develop antibodies at some point back in the summer and I have now had 3 double doses of infliximab (the last one being on 16/01). My next infusion will be back at the standard dose whilst they review blood tests results rechecking antibodies and trough levels.
So up until my last infusion I was having completely normal bowel movements (every other day, about a type 3 on bristol stool chart). I gave a stool sample on 16/01 when I went for my infusion and they checked my fecal calprotectin which came back as <5 (I'm in the UK but this is basically the lowest possible result). I was super pleased. Then within about 4/5 days of my infusion I suddenly felt like I didn't really need to go to the toilet as much (I wasn't too bothered at first since it has occasionally made me a bit constipated before) but now since then every time I go my stool has been softer, still formed but mote like a type 4 on stool chart and I'm having to wipe a lot and it is quite wet like the consistency is totally different whereas previously it was pretty dry. If anything I have been going to the toilet less and had hardly any pain, there's no blood or anything like that and I have no urgency.
I know anything is possible with this disease but it seems very unlikely that I'm suddenly starting to flare and my tests results were basically perfect a few weeks ago. Does anyone know what could be happening? I get very anxious about these things and it's sort of stressing me out!
Nothing else has really changed, diet much the same.
Thanks!
