Anybody tried the ENTYVIO Pen?
I saw it advertised. Give yourself shots every 2 weeks.

I’ve been on entyvio infusions for 7 years and do NOT want to switch to pen. Mainly due to cost (my infusions covered at no cost to me due to Medicare + supplement — and a switch to a pen would move my costs over to the prescription side of Medicare and I’m sure the cost will be astronomical!). But also I hate needles. I did give myself monthly migraine injections for a couple years but those were quick and only a tiny bit painful.

I’m also fearful they won’t work as well and have no wish to upset the happy remission apple cart I’m on! 😀. But I am very curious about the injections so if you give them a try please post and let us know.

Are you currently in remission on entyvio?

How long have you been on Entyvio? If it's been more than 6-12 months and your colon still looks pretty bad, you probably need to change meds completely. It's great that you are feeling better, but you really need to get that colon healed. There a so many options these days for meds, the trick is finding the right one. I have heard that a test is in the works that will one day be able to predict which class of drugs will work best for each of us. But until that test is available all we can do is trial and error and hope for the best.

Any thoughts on what med your doc would like you to try next?

Did you try even the relatively newer drugs like xeljanz and rinvoq. I think there's 1 or 2 more that weren't around 5 or 6 years ago for UC too but I can't remember the names.

I can understand wanting to stay on entyvio, just wanted to say I was diagnosed with pancolitis and xeljanz is the only drug that put me in a full remission. It's actually known for particularly working on patients who have not responded to other drugs. The success rate in the clinical trials is lower than observed in clinical practice.

Here's something you can consider: I was on entyvio when I started xeljanz and was afraid to switch because like you I was getting a partial response and I was off steroids. I had my last enyvio infusion 2 weeks before switching, and I made a deal with my doctor: if xeljanz doesn't help me in the first few weeks then I can continue with entyvio. Maybe that's something you can discuss with your doctor? (Also, if i was choosing again I'd go for rinvoq over xeljanz as it seems to be a little more effective and possibly a little safer, but as I've been in remission for 5 years I don't want to rock the boat)
