Hello Everyone,
Hope you're all doing great. This morning I opted to have an external hemorrhoidectomy to get rid of several large-ish hemorrhoids in my anal area. I had a few internal hemorrhoids removed earlier this year through a non-surgical banding process which was remarkably easy and I felt so much better afterwards.
I just wanted to check and see if anyone here has been through an external hemorrhoidectomy surgery, and what your recovery was like. I've been reading reddit threads from an uncomfortably large number of people who say the recovery is rough and takes a long time. I know those types of threads tend to attract people who are experiencing the worst case scenario (am betting those who have an okay time don't feel the need to write in), but it's still making me nervous.
If anyone feels like sharing their experience and/or any tips for speeding up the healing process, I'd appreciate it. I've gotten so much great advice on here, so thought I'd ditch the Redditors and talk directly to you
Thanks in advance,
Laura
