Just an update.
I was on SCD for 2 months in January and February this year (2024). My bleeding never stopped, but my ESR (sedimentation raid) and CRP were in the healthy ranges for the first time in 4 years.
I fell off the SCD wagon from March to early May and had three horrifically painful and extremely disabling arthritis flares in both of my knees.
In late May, I started the AIP diet out of desperation because being disabled by the knee flares was scary.
I noticed today, at the two-week mark of AIP, that there has been no blood in my stool for several days. This is the first time I haven't seen any blood on my stool since a course of prednisone in 2020.
Just wanted to share. This has been such a miserable year in terms of my health, so seeing progress like this is astounding and really motivating. I also feel so much better than I did on SCD.
Getting my blood work and calprotectin in early July, so I'll be able to confirm whether or not AIP has helped.
