As many of you know I've been on Remicade for about 10 months and doing very well.
My Dr. took me off of Azathioprine because of the slight risk of lymphoma.
Well my neck has been itchy for the last couple weeks and I had read that that can be one of the symptoms of lymphoma and I started thinking about it last night and started FREAKING OUT!
I was sweating, my heart was pounding, I didn't sleep a wink confused
I'm going to try to see my GI today, couldn't get in to my GP. I'm really hoping this is just some sort of allergic reaction.

You know I had the same reaction when I filed my taxes last year...I kid.

But seriously, what is the verdict?  Did your doc see you?  When I was on 6MP (are they similar?) I had terrible reactions-- ones I should have realized were signs my body was trying to get my attention.  Two occasions I remember clearly-- once I was on a road trip with my soon-to-be wife and I had this horribly high fever yet I was feeling soooo cold-- she woke up from a sweat and the car was roasting yet I was shivering.  The other time I was vomiting to the point of nearly passing out.  I guess I just didn't realize the severity at the time.  Thank God I'm off that stuff.  6MP is marketed and produced by the devil

I'd freak out too James....itching for me gets my mind going as well, and I run to check my eyes to make sure they're not yellow!!

What's the outcome of the GI appointment? It's great you got in so quickly.

Well I didn't get in to either dr today :(
I did put some benedryl cream on it and that seems to have helped, so hopefully that's the case.
I was able to sleep a bit this afternoon and will take some benedryl tonight to help me sleep.
I'm probably freaking out unnecessarily but it's hard not too.
I'll keep you posted

Aw heck James! Let us know what the doc says, and I'm glad the cream is giving you a bit of relief.

Thanks everybody, I am feeling much better and calmed down. The itching has mostly gone away along with the anxiety.
I talked to my GI's assistant yesterday and she had talked to him and he said it was VERY doubtful that it was lymphoma but that I should come in anyway. I am due for an appt so I'll be seeing him in a week and a half.
I also finally found that the itching associated with lymphoma tends to be on the back of the legs.
So, I'm feeling relieved and hoping that all is well. :-)
