I had a colonoscopy on 9/20 and they removed 75 polyps on my sigmoid and said I have internal hemmroids(i think thats how you spell it). I've been bleeding since then pretty bad and I've never done it this bad after previous colonoscopies, is this typical?

75 Polyps?? Holy cow that's a lot. Do you have the results back from the biopsies? I would think that after removing that many you would have a bit of bleeding but it's best if you call your GI and let them know how much blood you are having.

I haven't gotten my results back yet, I'm a little anxious for them. I haven't contacted my GI either, I didn't want to overreact. I thought maybe it might be the internal hemmroids.

GI's are there to help us and maybe you should call your GI to at least set your mind at ease about
the bleeding? Are you bleeding when you go to the bathroom? Or are you leaking blood? When you do go to the restroom, how many times a day are you going to expel just blood?

I'm not leaking blood. I'm going to the bathroom about
every other day and when I do I empty out and bleed alot. Before the procedure it wasn't this way as far as the bleeding goes.

Hi...I have bled for a few days after biopsies were taken. I would think that after that many polyps were removed, bleeding would be a given.
Do, however, call the GI office so that it can be documented. When do you go for the biopsy results?
