doc said no to spouse during colonoscopy & biopsy in the neck

Okay,

so they told me no when I asked today about husband in the room during the scope.

I start the liquid diet tonight for colonoscopy on Wednesday.

They had found a lump in my left side of my neck.....

so they sent me to another doctor -  I forget the kind.

He did ultrasounds then did a biopsy with a needle.....

not once, or two times but FOUR times -  the last two with a big needle.  He said that he was going to give it a hard stab the last time,...  they did get some out and the test looked strange.....

so they are sending it for more testing.  They also took blood.

I dont know why but tonight I would just like to sit in a corner and cry.

DH is already asleep so is DD  only me and the 3 year old up ---   he never sleeps.......

I know I have a good life and my UC is doing good-  not seeing blood  still have D.  but dont know if that is due to the cold that I cant seem to shake.  

I okay so I am having my own pity party.

Oh and then my mom called on the way to have the dock look at my neck and said there was a program on CNN about Celiac Disease and how people are told that they have UC when it is that.....

I JUST WANT TO BE NORMAL.

I'd just make sure your hubby is with you after the scope when the nurse and/or doctor talk to you. There have been times when I remember little of what was discussed. I was provided with a print out describing the condition of my colon and photos taken from various sections after my latest scope, so you may still get to see what's going on in there.

Not surprised to hear that your hubby won't be permitted to attend the c-scope session. State medical regulations applying to out-patient procedures have been toughened in recent yrs; I heard from a family practice doctor in my urban neighborhood that they get pretty specific about the required conditions in which doctors have to perform the scopes.                                                                         If you had celiac disease it would likely have disabled you during childhood. Did you feel abdominal pain at night & grind your teeth? It happened to the child of someone I know who was diagnosed at age 5. She needed an emergency appendectomy at age 8, but did improve as she got older & made dietary adjustments, eliminating wheat gluten, etc.                                                                            Good luck with your prep, scope, & neck problem. Not necessarily. A lot of celiacs go undiagnosed for years and it's alot more common than people realize. And there are other, milder levels of gluten sensitivity that may not show up on any kind of test. Your best bet is to educate yourself and eliminate all sources of gluten for a few weeks and keep a food journal. Your body knows best.
